Sun Frosted Pistol is a 2019 AQHA gelding standing 15.1 HH. Known around the barn as Scooter, he’s the kind that checks every box for a safe, dependable, family-suitable partner. Scooter is beginner-safe and as close to bombproof as they come. Scooter has been used for long days of ranch and cattle work, has been used in ranch rodeo competitions, and has served as a pickup horse at rodeos. He handles every job with a quiet, willing attitude. He’s been ranched and headed on, and is solid on the roping dummy, making him an excellent confidence-building horse for someone learning to rope. Kind, patient, and consistent are the three words that best describe Scooter. Our four-year-old rides him independently inside and outside of the arena and on the trails, and Scooter takes exceptional care of him. Even with extended time off, he stays the same horse every time you saddle him. No drama, no nonsense—just a dependable partner you can count on. While Scooter isn’t a fancy reiner, he has a soft, uncomplicated handle that won’t confuse a beginner but will still satisfy an experienced rider. He picks up both leads with ease, backs willingly, pivots on his haunches, carries a flag, crosses tarps without hesitation, and lopes around quietly on a loose rein. He transitions down off voice commands, slows with a simple “easy,” and has a rock-solid “whoa.” He’s so trustworthy that you can literally ride him bridleless and tackless anywhere you can dream of. Soft in the bridle, forgiving, and genuinely enjoyable. On the trail, Scooter is as honest as they come. He confidently crosses logs, water, bridges, and rough terrain without hesitation. Whether riding alone or in a group, he stays relaxed and reliable, making him the perfect partner for anyone wanting to enjoy the trails with confidence. Back at the barn, Scooter is just as easy. He stands tied quietly all day, is easy to catch, loads and hauls without issue, and is a gentleman for both the veterinarian and farrier. He is barefoot with excellent feet and has phenomenal ground manners, all of which are demonstrated throughout his video. Scooter has shown us absolutely no vices and is truly a pleasure to have around. Scooter has been in the same hands his entire life and is ready to become someone’s once-in-a-lifetime partner.
