Some horses have the looks. Some have the talent. Some have the personality. Dewey just happens to have all three. Dewey is a 5-year-old palomino paint gelding standing 14.1 hands tall, and there is absolutely no overlooking this guy. That gorgeous bald face, four high white stockings, two blue eyes, and all that golden color make him one of the classiest little geldings you’ll lay eyes on. He’s unique, flashy, and has a presence that makes people turn around for a second look. But the best part about Dewey isn’t what you see in a picture — it’s who he is. He is the definition of a people horse. Sweet, affectionate, completely in your pocket, and always the first one with his head over the gate waiting to say hello. Dewey genuinely enjoys his person and has a personality that makes him incredibly easy to fall in love with. Under saddle, he has the same willing, go-with-the-flow attitude. Dewey has been used in all aspects of ranch work and has spent countless miles outside covering country in several different types of terrain. Rocks, flat land, creeks, down timber, hills, and ditches — point that bald face where you want to go and Dewey is happy to take you there. He has been started on the heel side and is showing all the promise of making an outstanding rope horse. He has a good stop, a nice turnaround, and will walk, trot, and lope beautiful circles in the arena. He’ll pack a flag, cross bridges, walk over tarps and logs, and confidently handle whatever you put in front of him. Dewey isn’t the nervous, watchy kind. He’s confident, sensible, and carries himself with that old-soul ranch horse attitude everybody is looking for but so few young horses truly have. He is a people pleaser with natural talent and the kind of mind that leaves the door wide open for his future. Rope horse. Ranch horse. Trail partner. Arena prospect. Your go-to gelding.
