Description
If you’re looking for the kind of horse that mixes talent and looks, all while taking care of his rider, this is him. Honest, forgiving, and incredibly intuitive, he’s the definition of amateur-friendly. He is confidence-building for riders of all levels and is the same steady partner every single day. He doesn’t just excel in one lane; he’s the rare type that can step into the show ring, quietly pack someone around in English or western, or go put in a solid day’s work on the ranch without missing a beat. Versatile, dependable, and safe in every sense of the word, he’s the kind you can trust to do it all—and do it well, any day, in any place. Spurs is a 2020 Quarter Horse gelding standing 15.3 hands tall. He is what dreams are made of. There is nothing this horse cannot do. He makes whoever climbs on his back look and feel like a pro. You feel pure joy every time you climb into his saddle. He is steady and deliberate, with all the buttons, without being reactive. Everything about this horse is right—His looks, his brain, and his education. He has been a barn favorite, and I’m not sure we will ever have another quite as special as him. Under western tack, Spurs has been used extensively outside — doctoring cattle, sorting, and gathering pastures. He knows a day’s work and handles cattle with confidence. He will rope both ends, is stout to the horn, and has a ton of cow. Spurs was started on the Barrel pattern and did 90 days in a barrel program. Spurs circles well, has great lead departures, powerful spins, and a big stop. He knows all the maneuvers and can go in any direction and succeed. Under English tack, Spurs is a dream. Seamlessly put together dressage tests, jump around courses in the ring, or hit the cross-country field. He is smooth, comfortable, and easy to ride. His gaits are adjustable, he is soft in the bridle, and his brain is unbeatable. Anything you ask of him, he does well. He’s the ideal amateur horse as he is kind, forgiving, and always building confidence. On the trails and off property, Spurs is a professional. He is safe, sure-footed, and reliable wherever you take him. From camping trips, off-property trips to school and train, trail rides, and trips to town, Spurs has proven to go into any place or situation calmly, as if he’s been there a thousand times before. He crosses water, swims, is safe in heavy traffic, and crosses any obstacle you point him at. He will ride happily alone or in a group. He’s great to trailer and is easy to load and travel with. In the barn, Spurs is a great horse to be around. He is a good boy for all the usual barn tasks and genuinely enjoys being around his people. He’s happy living inside or out and is an easy keeper. Spurs has a kind and gentle personality that everyone loves. He’s respectful, personable, and a joy to have in the barn.
