BROKEN BACK RANCH QUARTER HORSES
Ranch raised, cow bred horses from Ten Sleep, Wyoming.
About Us
Raising horses has been part of my family’s life in Wyoming for four generations. My great grandfather, Thomas S. Mills, homesteaded on Cherry Creek south of Ten Sleep in the late 1800s. At one time, he owned roughly 500 horses, supplying mounts to the U.S. Army, local ranchers and people who depended on horses for everyday travel.
My grandfather, Milo, and my father, Boyd, continued raising horses with the stamina, cow sense and toughness needed for ranch work. Over the years, stallions such as Peppy Rojo, Rushin Comet, Foxy Pleasure and Spooky Rip contributed to the horses we raise today. Each brought qualities our family valued, from strong bone and balanced conformation to smooth movement and willing dispositions.
Today, I’m proud to carry on that tradition at Broken Back Ranch Quarter Horses. Several generations of our family’s breeding are represented in my broodmares. Whether registered or grade, my focus remains on raising useful, capable horses with the disposition and ability to handle a day’s work.
